After last year’s record-breaking tourist season, 2016 is set to be an even bigger year for the region’s leisure and tourism industries, just what is driving the Oulton Broad holiday boom?
With many visitors making return bookings for 2016 after enjoying a Suffolk break last year, Oulton Broad and the county of Suffolk is fast becoming one of the holiday highlights of the whole country.
At Love Oulton Broad, we saw unprecedented numbers of visitors to our site in 2015, with our Oulton Broad free parking guides, Oulton Broad celebrity walks and Oulton Broad Powerboating schedules proving especially popular.
The 2015 Oulton Broad Charity Gala was a particular success of the summer, with hundreds of families turning out to enjoy the sunshine, local produce, and varied entertainment, which this year included Britain’s Got Talent stars Jeffrey Drayton and his doll Chantel. Relive the fantastic Charity Gala weekend with the EDP’s video and photo gallery.
Suffolk’s tourist attractions have also welcomed the influx of visitors. Martin Dupee, operations director of the Dinosaur Adventure, Banham Zoo and Africa Alive, told the North Norfolk News: ‘We are heading for a record year at Dinosaur Adventure with more than 200,000 visitors now being projected and, following lean years, both zoos are back well up to where they should be.’
Of course, the main reason to visit Oulton Broad is to spend time in the summer sun. Summer 2014 and 2015 in Suffolk were two of the sunniest summers on record, which led to thousands of families heading east for a weekend of good old British seaside fun in the sun. What will 2016 in Oulton Broad bring?
