Oulton Broad Dragon Race

Oulton Broad Dragon Race

Lowestoft’s businesses prepare to do battle once more as the Lowestoft Dragon Boat Race returns to Oulton Broad for 2017.

The Dragon Boat festival is one of the highlights of the Lowestoft calendar as the town’s businesses each put forward a team of rowers. The teams compete through the day, racing across the Oulton Broad Marina until the winner is crowned.

This year’s race is scheduled for May 14th. The reigning champions, Netmatters, return to take on all comers, including Southwood Hall, Mumfords of Southwold, Grosvenor Casino, James Fisher Marine Services, Associated British Ports, Bourne Leisure-Gunton Hall, and Corton Coastal Village.

The whole day is set to be a grand celebration of everything that’s great about our wonderful town, with music, food, and plenty of fun all centred on the marina and Nicholas Everitt Park. Whether you want to come and support a team or just enjoy a fantastic community day out, make sure you arrive early so you don’t miss any of the action.

This year’s Lowestoft Dragon Race is being held in support of the East Coast Hospice’s Raise the Roof campaign, so there’s no excuse not to head down to the Marina on the 14 May 2017. For more information, or to sign up a team, click here to go to the official Lowestoft Dragon Boat Race website.
