vw whitenoise festival - buy tickets on the doorVW Whitenoise, a festival dedicated to Volkswagens and top live music, returns to Fritton Lake on 5, 6 and 7 August 2011, taking over the whole site this year. The event attracts over 5,000 owners and fans of VW’s with Saturday night ‘Comedy in the Barn’ from Mark Felgate, Rob Coleman and Chuck Cash and the Fenland Cowboys, new for 2011.

The family-friendly festival has seen a massive leap in advance tickets

sales, especially family passes. VW owners have booked from as far afield as Glasgow

and Cornwall. Attractions includes:

  • 17 live bands – including Lester Clayton (who recently supported Ed Sheeran at The Waterfront) Tom Hingley (Inspiral Carpets), Sargasso Trio, ‘the Hackney

Hendrix’ Lewis Floyd Henry, Vegas Fame Index, We Can’t Dance, The Dead

Fronts (fresh from Radio 2 live session) and many more…

  • Free camping – with special family camping area
  • Prestigious show & shine – the best examples of air and

water-cooled  Volkswagens (on Sunday 7 August)

  • Music Marquees – with top local DJ’s including Skalypso Tone, Aaron B, Choco Doobs, Chrome and Ill Inspired and Fully Grown Men
  • Free Kids’ Craft Tent – new addition for 2011 and under 5’s soft play area, adventure playground and mini funfair
  • Artistic visitors – watch as a 60ft blank canvas is
transformed by Norwich-based graffiti artists ‘Sticky Fingerz’ and get

involved with ME AND ER, Norfolk’s summer traveling arts emporium, on the Friday

  • Over 70 traders

including clothing, jewellery, tattooist, auto-jumble, art,  late bar, on-site caterers, bouncy campervan, dodgems and use of all Fritton Lake facilities during the day, including FREE rowing boat hire.

Norwich couple Lucy (age 34) and Neil Haughey (age 40) organise

the event. Neil Haughey, said: “We had a massive turnout in 2010 on just half

the site so we’ve taken over the whole site for 2011. The appeal of the VW

Camper lifestyle keeps growing and after nine years we’re now garnering

national support, interest and attendance from bigger named bands, more comedy

and art, and the UK VW scene is really standing up and taking notice of us.

“We organise this event in our spare time and there’s not much

spare anymore! We wanted to make this the kind of friendly, affordable camping

and music weekend we thought was missing in East Anglia and Fritton Lake is the

perfect gem in which to host it.”

ALL TICKET TYPES ARE AVAILABLE ON THE GATE THROUGHOUT THE WEEKEND. Tickets start from only £7.50 for a day pass, £2.50 for kids and just £30 for the whole
