Popular Lowestoft & Oulton Broad based restaurant, bar and nightclub operator the Winelodge has sadly had to closed after years of trading in Oulton Broad
It’s the end of an era as the Winelodge in Oulton Broad ceased operating as a Bar, Restaurant & Nightclub, however all accommodation in Oulton Broad will continue to be enjoyed by thousands of people each year. The businesses at Victoria Terrace in the Lowestoft esplanade area has totally ceased operations. For many people the loss of these venues represents the end of an era in Oulton Broad and Lowestoft. The owners said in a statement “Unfortunately due to the current economic climate and high costs of running both buildings, we have had to make several cutbacks recently in these challenging times.”
While the news was sad it was also a time to reflect on the great memories that the venues generated for people in the Oulton Broad and Lowestoft area “It has been a pleasure to provide several venues for people to enjoy over the years. From celebrity nights, boat parties, live music and celebration parties in our function room, it’s been a fantastic time. We appreciate all the hard work and dedication from all our staff in making these events happen…THANK YOU!!”
However they also emphasised this was not the end of their involvement in the local area with the Bar and Canteen in Oulton Broad still offering function rooms, food and so forth, something the owners were keen to emphasise “We are delighted to offer the full Winelodge Menu at Bar and Canteen so you can still enjoy our fantastic range in a relaxed and contemporary setting.”
With a host of recent developments Lowestoft it is clear that Lowestoft is an area on the up and we hope that businesses will continue to support the town and consider reviving this recently ceased business with something new and begin a new era of entertainment.
