An Oulton Broad driver was fined £250 for stopping his car on a level crossing.
Conrad Taylor, 48, of Lowestoft, was taking his son to catch a train at the Oulton Broad North Station in September of last year when he avoided the crossing’s barriers and stopped in the middle of the train tracks. A signalman witnessed the incident and noted his registration number and informed the police.
Taylor admitted doing so, and said that he stopped braking when he noticed there was a car behind him, and tried to keep going, but was prevented from do so by two girls crossing the road in front of him. In addition to being fined £250, he was also ordered to pay £185 costs and a £25 victim surcharge, and he had seven points placed on his license.
